Meet the Expert – Kate Sheridan

Kate Sheridan, Associate Director

What I specialise in…

I help organisations rethink how they work. As businesses and our environments evolve, operating models must support today as well as be able to adapt, flex and pivot for what’s next.

I specialise in Operating Model and Organisation Design and help organisations design how they are structured and work effectively today, while building the capability to continually challenge and evolve their operating model as their strategy, priorities and environment change.

I help clients with…

Sometimes, the challenges organisations see aren’t always the problems that need solving. I help clients uncover what’s really creating those challenges, creating clarity amongst complexity and a clear path forward. By establishing the unknown, we can move beyond symptoms and focus on the underlying issues that will have the greatest impact on performance and outcomes.

That foundation then informs how we design for tomorrow, not simply what is needed today. An operating model shouldn’t be designed and filed away; I help organisations build the capability and mindset to continually challenge how they work, adapt to changing needs, and ensure their operating model remains fit for purpose long into the future.

One of the major challenges the I am seeing in the market is….

The distance between the pace of strategy and the pace of organisational change is growing. A company strategy may run annually but the operating model can’t. Priorities shift, technology evolves and new challenges emerge throughout the year. Organisations need operating models that can respond to this pace of change, rather than waiting for the next annual planning cycle.

How do you think the market will change in the next 12-24 months?

AI is reshaping both organisations and the work within it. It is challenging the operating models built around it. Organisations need to look into the future, rethink how functions interact, where capabilities sit, and where value is created.

Recent impact

An operating model and organisation redesign with major cost savings that re-established the line of outsourcing, enabling the retained organisation to focus on key strategic activity, pivot to increasing internal demands, and build stronger relationships with partners.
