Our Origin

Incendium was founded on a rebellious and independent spirit
that remains to this day.

Our 6 founders had built enviable careers and reputations in their respective fields delivering results in senior positions in the Big 4, top Real Estate consultancies and Fortune 100 businesses.

But in 2014, driven by a goal to disrupt how clients accessed innovative and independent CRE expertise, they quit their jobs and Incendium was born. Their passion for sourcing the best talent and delivering transformational results quickly attracted a diverse pool of like-minded rebels.

Combined with a commitment to working shoulder-to-shoulder with clients, the business grew rapidly. Then, on a fateful day in 2018 the founders met the team at Instant, and it became very clear, very quickly they were kindred spirits. Shortly after, Incendium joined The Instant Group and the rest is, as they say, history.

Valerie Bonnin
Managing Director
Expertise: Management Consultancy / Strategic Outsourcing and Procurement

Valerie is an experienced CRE management advisor and joined Incendium in September 2016.

Previously, Valerie was a real estate consultant for PwC and then a Director within Deloitte’s real estate consulting practice. She brings a wealth of experience across the real estate consulting spectrum and has deep expertise of developing real estate strategies, shaping and

implementing Target Operating Models and advising on all aspects of facilities management, real estate and capital projects procurements.

Valerie specialises in advising both private and public sector clients on the procurement and management of large, complex real estate and facilities management contracts.

Simon Johnson
Executive Director
Expertise: Management Consultancy / Strategic Outsourcing and Procurement

A founding partner of Incendium, Simon has in-depth experience of delivering complex projects, exceptional client value and fostering trusted relationships.

Recently working with DWP and embedded as part of their Estates Senior Leadership Team, Simon successfully delivered the exit from their PRIME PFI contract. Simon is now providing overall leadership to the HMRC STEPS PFI expiry team across Commercial, Property and Data workstreams.

 

Simon has 20 years’ experience across the full real estate spectrum working with CBRE, DTZ and EY and for many blue-chip global firms and public sector organisations including HSBC, Sage, RSA, Aviva, DEFRA, DWP and HMRC.

Sam Pickering
Executive Director
Expertise: Management Consultancy

A high-performance team player, Sam excels in carrying out effective change in dynamic environments that deliver true value.

His career has been extremely diverse, from flying helicopters in the British Army to being Head of Energy and Sustainability at CBRE GCS, Head of Risk Management for Source8, and working for numerous corporates including Unilever and Lloyds Banking Group.

 

This diversity gives him the edge and with a deep understanding of the challenges facing the real estate sector, his ability to facilitate change is testament to his analytical and strategic mindset.

Ed Van Zyl
Executive Director
Expertise: Future of Work / Portfolio Strategy

Ed has spend the last 15 years in corporate real estate working on a range of CRE challenges, both as a full time senior leader and service provider. Based in the UK, Asia and Africa, Ed has delivered solutions for banking, energy, insurance and shipping firms around the globe, always focussed on customer needs and experience.

Skilled at seeing and communicating the big picture, Ed has a special interest in location strategy, portfolio optimisation, the future of work and digital and sustainable workplaces.
